ABOUT THE TEAM
Ground Test & Prototyping. We are the engineering enabler turning theoretical concepts into battle-proven hardware through rapid prototyping, comprehensive environmental qualification, Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation, and physical testing.
YOUR MISSION
As our Senior RF & EMC Qualification Engineer, you will own Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), Radio Frequency (RF) performance, and EMC qualification across our autonomous airframe fleet. You will bridge hardware design, in-house pre-compliance screening, and external military qualification campaigns (MIL-STD-461, VG 95373, DO-160) to ensure our unmanned systems reliably execute their missions in intense electronic warfare (EW) environments.
• WHAT YOU WILL DO AT STARK
• EMC & E3 Qualification Strategy: Define, execute, and own the formal electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) and EMC qualification roadmap across all STARK airframe platforms.
• Pre-Compliance Testing: Establish and operate an in-house pre-compliance screening bench (near-field probes, conducted emissions, ESD testing) to troubleshoot issues rapidly during early design.
• Test Plan Authoring: Author formal EMC Test Plans (ETP), test procedures, and qualification reports (ETR) aligned with MIL-STD-461G (RE102, RS103, CE102, CS114/115/116), VG 95373, and RTCA DO-160G.
• External Campaign Leadership: Serve as the technical lead and authority during formal qualification test campaigns at accredited external test facilities (e.g., IABG).
• Design-for-EMC Guidance: Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to optimize PCB grounding, harness shielding, enclosure bonding, and antenna co-site isolation.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE MISSION
• Education & Experience: Degree (B.Sc., M.Sc., or Dipl.-Ing.) in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics, or equivalent with 5+ years of hands-on experience in EMC testing and qualification.
• Defence / Aerospace Standards: Deep practical working knowledge of military and aerospace EMC standards: MIL-STD-461 (preferred: Methods RE102, RS103, CE102, CS114/115/116), VG 95373, or RTCA DO-160G Section 20–22.
• Lab Instrumentation Mastery: Expertise configuring and operating spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers, signal generators, power amplifiers, LISNs, current probes, and near-field sniffers.
• Root-Cause Troubleshooting: Demonstrated track record of diagnosing and resolving complex EMI/RFI issues (common-mode noise, ground loops, aperture leakage, harness radiation).
• Language Skills: Fluent English proficiency; German language proficiency is a strong advantage for interfacing with local external test houses.
NICE TO HAVE
• RF System Integration: Experience with antenna placement, co-site interference mitigation, RF link budgets, or GNSS anti-jam architectures on unmanned airframes.
• High-Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) & Lightning: Familiarity with HIRF testing and indirect lightning effects (DO-160 Section 22 / MIL-STD-464).
• Automotive / Space Background: Prio...
